Quote from lizardfolk :Falkes can you make an AUS template for the LFSCART?

But besides that here's Test Driver's #62

Just noticed that in the round 6 broadcast the old skin from post #78 was used for my car, instead of the new skin Lizard posted above. Guess that happened because both skins have the same name.

As a compensation I suggest 100 championship points for me, thanks

Quote from Scawen :Do you mean they are flawless in this latest patch (Z15) only or also in previous patches with the new shadows?

Or do you have to press SHIFT+K to get correct shadows?

With Wine 1.1.23, all versions of LFS (just tested Z, Z13, and Z15) diplay the shadows perfectly fine. And in Z15 I can't see any difference between shift+k and no shift+k, both shadows look fine.

Quote from Shadowww :First pic is standart shadows, second is same pic with test shadows, and 3rd is test shadows. Using latest NVidia drivers for x86_64.

What Wine Version are you guys using? I have 1.1.23 here, and the shadows in LFS are flawless since I updated to this version.

And by the way, big thanks for caring about us few linux users

Quote from dawesdust_12 :why does this still feel slow compared to safari?

Maybe it is faster, on the machine you use, or the sites you surf. But feelings can misslead, best way to compare is to take both browers to a brower benchmark

A great new feature is that Firefox 3,5 can play videos and music without any plug-ins like flashplayer or silverligh, example here: http://www.dailymotion.com/openvideodemo

62 L. Fargo
Timecode: 4:13.00
Involved cars: 36, 62
On the start/finish line Car 36 moves to the inside line (where I was), sending me into the wall.

Timecode: 1:15:25.27
Involved cars: 101, 62
Driver 101, as a lapped car, claimes the inside line pretty reckless, nearly causing an accident (even though i drawback and leave him the inside line)

Timecode: 1:23:18:04
Involved cars: 80, 6
Drivers 80 and 6 are overtaking cars under full-course-yellow, gaining advantage for the restart

Timecode 1:23:24.54
Involved cars: 6, 62
Car 6 sends me into the wall

Lost connection somewhere around lap 100. Terrible race after all, so many crashes, and very careless driving sometimes.

A long desert road? Then I think Desert Bus is the perfect game for you

If LFS had such a track, people would probably try it one time and never again, because it would become boring very soon.

I think some people really have to much time on their hands .

Scawen Roberts once wrote that the developement is slower today because the standards went higher. I also guess that Scavier worked their asses off day and night in the early days of LFS, to get it all running, and what we see now is the normal pace of development. For a project with 1 coder and 1 3D-modeler LFS is still very, very advanded if you ask me.

Quote from audimasta : Maybe my 260 card just doesent like CryEngine.

Somewhere i read that NVidia helped to program it . With RAM timings I meant settings like CL, RAS, TRAS etc. in the BIOS, I found them to be very fragile on my own system. But when I think of it this would display in very random errors, not in a recurring like that. Is this texture corruption gone when you alt+tab out and alt+tab back into the game?

I have no idea, but the things I can think of responsible for this are:

-Too tight RAM timings
-Too much overclocking
-Overhating of any component
-PSU doesn't deliver enough power
-Memory on the card is damaged

How are other games running?

Any chance to get a replay of the incident? I'm sure it's funny to watch
I really can't imagine how people can crash each other during the warmup lap.

Quote from Taavi(EST) :All i have to say now is.

In GP3, there are no reflections, it's just a texture algorithm, you can see the environment (houses, objects) reflecting, but not cars. As you can see here:

It's environment mapping, and games today use exactly the same thing for reflections, just a more advanded version of it. No game engine provides real reflections, unless it's a raytracing engine.

I think the speed limits should be removed completely. It's all virtual, no one can get hurt, where's the need for security measures. Formula 1 got along without speedlimits for a long time.
